BUILD THE MP3 WATCHDOG INTO THE OPERATING SYSTEM.

Why would Linux, Apple or Microsoft be interested in such a thing? They would be interested because every MP3 sold from their websites could generate 50 CENTS for them to split with their artists/producers! THIS IS MILLIONS $ If this ever comes to pass, all of the mp3s that you now "own" will be USELESS under future versions of those operating systems. Now lets explain how this can be accomplished.
Let's create a new ficticious operating system for purpose of this scenario.
LASKODOS with 50% market share has just sent their software engineers to the lab to develop MOK (mp3 OS keys)and here is what they have come back with.
When an end user downloads a "purchased" mp3 they will actually be getting an MP3K file. This is an encoded mp3 with a KEY attached. This key will never be the same nor will the algorythm. Every time a new mp3 is downloaded a new key/algorythm combo is selected from the server-provider TABLE/MATRIX . A single key could be as simple as the INSTRUCTION to invert the 14th bit of every byte of the file. The CHECKSUM for each packet would also need to be altered. This would be adjusted AT THE USERS END by the operating system. So, to a computer with an old copy of WINDOWS95, for instance, there will be countless packet errors and eventually DISCONNECT. Because the new operating system also has a copy of the TABLE, it will read the ENCRIPTION SCHEME and download the file. It will then save the file in the ENCODED format. The KEY is then stored back with the file to be called upon each time the file is PLAYED. If the end user wants to TRANSFER the file he/she can but never COPY it! All COPY functions in the new OS will disable the COPY FUNCTION when the system recognizes an mp3k file. Only MOVE will be allowed.
LASKODOS goes one step further for security. The employer of THOUSANDS of programmers, allows each programmer to work on only 1 KEY and one ALGORYTHM. They are to hand over the KEYs to the SINGLE MASTER PROGRAMMER for the MASTER KEY. The master programmer must sign a special additional NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. If the code should ever be released, leaked, or hinted about , the master programmer will be in litigation and prosecuted. The owner of LASKODOS stores the source for all of the KEYS and MASTER KEYS ,in PIECES, in various undisclosed locations as well the master programmer.
To make the system more secure new keys will be added WEEKLY and the END USER will be advised to download the KEY PATCH weekly.
Now what will happen with the OLD format of mp3 that we have now? The new operating system will not accept or play a old fashioned mp3 with YESTERDAYS (or older) DATE stamp . The operating system will not allow the COPY of any OLD mp3 format file with a date:time of more than 24 hrs. The new OS will not even allow PLAYing of an old MP3 file from a CD or CDR. The new operating system will also DISTINGUISH between a FREE MP3 "DEMO" downloaded on YOUR system and one from your friends OLD SYSTEM and not allow it to play either! Hexadecimal EDITORS will not be able to EDIT any mp3 files with the mp3 or mp3k key. The mp3 file will appear CORRUPT and made WRITE PROTECTED by the OS. Every attempt to alter the file will be logged in an INVISIBLE LOG FILE and uploaded to LASKODOS when you go online.
The user that keeps the "OLD" system will be unable to OPEN any MP3K file because the file will appear CORRUPT with incorrect CHECKSUMS. Now the end user could keep their old system with the old operating system and play OLD mp3s in the old way, but when they see all of the advantages of INTERACTIVE TV, ENHANCED MULTIMEDIA RECORDING AND SPEED of the newer 2 GHZ system, they will be PRESSURED into buying the new operating system because their NEW HARDWARE will not operate properly with a 20th century OS!
Let's also add another twist to the scenario. The newer mp3K format will also compress better allowing a standard 3 meg file to download twice as fast!WILL MP3K BE FASTER?
BTW what are you doing with your old 8TRACK ?
LASKODOS is a ficticious company and this entire scenario is a fabrication. Any similarity to any real software company is purely coincidence.
